The media platform The Verge reports a new function of the navigation app Waze that is developed in order to save the lives of kids forgotten in cars. Statistics show that in the US alone 37 children passed died on average from heatstrokes in vehicles since 1998. Also in Israel, where it can get terribly hot for many months a year, those horrible accidents are a particularly pressing problem as well.
The new function can be modified as a reminder for several kids and several destinations respectively. Of course the alarm can be used in order to not forget pets or groceries in the car as well. While the service is still being tried in a first beta version it will hopefully be available on all Waze-Apps soon.
