“You’re calling from Israel? What happened to my son?” Didi Mazri, Private Chef, quickly realized his mistake when he called Liad’s parents at 6:00AM, California time. He assured them everything was okay. All he needed to know was their son’s favorite homemade meal.
Mazri, a personal chef and culinary consultant who operates with a health conscious heart of gold, was hired by Yotpo on a monthly basis. Yotpo is a successful Israeli company that enhances user-generated content for e-commerce sites. Yotpo was established in 2014 and has expanded to 140 employees in Israel, who work in three different floors and two buildings in Tel Aviv.
Yotpo specializes in creating communities around content, and it’s clear their employee community lies at the heart of their values. Their leadership team chooses to host the monthly meetups, tagged as Yotpo Eats, with the aim of bringing their employees together to mingle, show appreciation, and provide a healthy treat to nourish their minds and bodies.
This month they decided to surprise their international employees who live far away from their families with a small taste of home; hence the 6:00AM phone call about comfort food.
Mazri created a feast for both eyes and appetites alike with dishes like Hungarian goulash for Joey to birthday cake for Corey. He also makes sure to keep his cooking menu light, healthy and with the perfect dose of energy for employees to stay focused and productive for the rest of the workday. He ensured all diets were happy by including vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Yotpo’s efforts are seen in the cheerful faces of the employees, who gather each month with good spirits, smiles, and small talk. Yotpo is an example of the future of successful companies, where community is the priority and big profits are a product of genuine caring for its people.
