A new mode of transportation is en route to the urban streets of Tel Aviv. City Transformer is an Israeli company dedicated to changing the way people drive and park in cities. To support growing traffic and parking issues, they have created a cross of car and motorbike that transforms according to driver needs. The petite mode of transport makes it easy to park and is better for the environment than a typical vehicle.
The City Transformer vehicle has two modes based on its four wheels. One is comparable to a small car, able to reach 200 kilometers per hour, and can fit one passenger, with normal car comforts. The second mode, when the vehicles four wheels on drawn in, is built to operate like an electric scooter. The two modes promise to drive like a real car and park like a motorcycle. This is achieved thanks to their unique technology which shrinks the width of the car by its wheelbase.
The Tel Aviv municipality has agreed to support a trial run of about 50 vehicles as the first group of prototypes. The futuristic urban fleet of vehicles are expected to hit the Tel Aviv streets towards the end of 2019.
